Anzac Test Scrapped Without Consulting New Zealand Rugby League


The annual Anzac Test between the Australian Kangaroos and New Zealand Kiwis has been scrapped from 2018 onwards.  Sensationally, the New Zealand Rugby League was not notified by the National Rugby League of the changes.

What are your thoughts on this issue?

“This news today has taken us a little by surprise,” NZRL chief executive Phil Holden admitted in a conference call with reporters this afternoon.

Mr Holden said it was still not clear whether Australian players would be available for a mid-season test against the Kiwis and “everybody was jumping to conclusions”.

“We haven’t physically had an opportunity to speak to anybody so I don’t know and no-one else knows either.”
