Michael Ennis Set to be NSW Hooker as They Look to Exploit Loophole

Michael Ennis is set to line up as NSW Hooker for Game 3, State of Origin despite being charged by the NRL Match Committee, as they look to take advantage of a loophole, where an NRL suspension expires after full-time in an NRL match.

This essentially means Ennis could serve the suspension for the Cronulla Sharks match on the weekend, making him free to take on the Queensland Maroons on Wednesday.

“No comment would be made about Michael Ennis while his case is before the match review committee,” the spokesman said. “However the rules state that any player’s suspension ends following the final game of the premiership round which coincides with the final match of their ban.”
